For Pride season, I worked as the event coordinator for Soft Serve: A Tender Pride Gathering, a collaboration between Hell Cat Creative Collective and Hadrian’s Lover. This event was designed as an intimate, heart-centred celebration of Pride, with a focus on connection, care, and creativity.
As coordinator, I managed the event budget, liaised with partners, sourced and purchased supplies, and hosted the evening. I was responsible for ensuring smooth operations from concept to execution, balancing community accessibility with a meaningful, high-quality experience.
The evening offered gentle, intentional activities, including:
Love Letter Writing Station – a space for attendees to write letters to themselves, loved ones, or significant figures in their lives.
Manifestation Candle Decorating – an interactive craft inviting participants to infuse candles with affirmations, dreams, and intentions to take home.
The event was run on a Pay What You Can model to ensure inclusivity, with 25% of proceeds donated to Manchester LGBTQ+ charity The Proud Trust. Accessibility was prioritised through a step-free venue and inclusive atmosphere.
Through Soft Serve, I helped bring together two vibrant communities to create an affirming, nourishing Pride celebration that highlighted the power of art, ritual, and collective care.
