Mr Feast (In Development)
Short Film / Drama / Social Commentary / Co - Producer
Mr Feast is a short narrative film that explores loneliness, internet fame, and the commodification of vulnerability in the digital age. The story follows John, a lonely, middle-aged man who goes online in search of connection and instead becomes the internet’s latest obsession. As his awkward charm is transformed into viral entertainment, John is pulled into a ruthless online ecosystem where algorithms reward excess, corporations profit, and accountability disappears.
Constructing an online persona built on gluttony and spectacle, John’s rise to visibility comes at a devastating personal cost. As audience demand escalates and his real-world relationships fracture, the film interrogates how digital culture exploits desperation, how easily people become content, and how quickly public adoration can turn to cruelty. Mr Feast blends body horror with social realism to deliver a sharp critique of online economies, masculinity, and modern isolation.
Due to be set and shot in Manchester and the surrounding areas, Mr Feast is rooted in contemporary Northern life and lived experience. As co-producer, I am leading the project’s development through Alora’s Productions, overseeing script development, creative team assembly, budgeting and scheduling, and funding strategy, including plans to apply to the BFI Short Film Fund. The project reflects my commitment to producing ambitious, challenging short-form cinema with a strong ethical framework and a clear social voice.
